i. NIR Spectrometer

ii. HPLC

iii. UV VIS Spectrophotometer

iv. Laminar Air Flow

v. ELISA

vi. STFR (Soil Test and Fertilizer recommendation) digital machine

b. Library: A well-established library section has the collection of scientific handbooks, manuals and journals which help in developing the research and extension programme besides updating the knowledge of scientific staff.

c. Training cum video conference facility: Training halls cum video conference are used to provide trainings to farmers from Haryana and different parts of India on cultivation of medicinal plants, organic farming, animal husbandry to help them enhance productivity and earn better farm profits.

Achievements: Research activities at R&D were focused on different areas like hydroponics to provide highly nutritive and microbiologically safe wheat grass for better human health, assisting farmers by checking the health of their field soil, water used for irrigation and suitable suggestions, providing solution to animal feed industry by controlling the quality of raw material and finished product.

a. Hydroponics: Nutritional and microbiological testing of hydroponics wheat grass and powder was undertaken. The results indicated that the hydroponically produced wheat grass/ Powder/ Juice has higher antioxidant value and nutritional contents. Microbiological study revealed that produce is safe for human health.

b. Vermicompost: ARF has been promoting the safe food production through use of Vermicompost. Standardization of Vermicompost with respect to macro nutrients, organic carbon and others was done at ARF R&D Center. Training sessions are given to the farmers of Panipat and Sonepat district about the right method of quality production of Vermicompost.

c. Assisting Farmers: R&D Centre assisted the farmers from different villages of Sonepat and Panipat, Haryana by carrying out the health check of soil and irrigation water, status update to help them take informed decision in changing the source of irrigation water, use of right combination and type of fertilizer before and after the cultivation of Rabi and Kharif crops.

d Investigational and analytical microbiology: Various researchable activities are being carried out to address food borne illness, pathogenic load estimation in packaged food items, milk products, poultry feed and animal feed. Antibiotic susceptibility test facility has helped in management of Mastitis in villages of Sonipat and Panipat, Haryana.

e Quantification of antibiotics and aflatoxins: ARF has developed the competency in quantification of different antibiotics and its residue in poultry feed, meat, egg and milk; aflatoxins in livestock feed and food items using ELISA.

f. Industrial Project:  Research activities are carried out to control the quality of animal feed of different industry of district Sonepat, Haryana. More than 1500 samples of animal feed raw material have been  analyzed on highly-sophisticated instrument NIR (Near Infra-Red) spectrometer for their nutritional contents and helped the party in quickly selecting the right one. This research activity has helped them significantly in improving and maintaining quality of their finished product.
